1. Check Configuration
1.1 Check Phone Settings
- Ensure the TerraMow App is the latest version. Download and install TerraMow App
- Ensure app’s location permissions (including GPS/GPRS) are enabled
- For iPhone users, please enable "Local Network" and "Location" permissions, for TerraMow App in your phone setting.
- Temporarily turn off mobile data services (4G/5G).
- Disable any firewall or VPN on your phone.
- Connect the phone to the home Wi-Fi network and verify internet access with other apps or browsers. During configuration, both phone and robot must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- In the phone's settings, turn off the Bluetooth and WLAN switches, and turn them on after 30 seconds.
1.2 Check Router Settings
- Please ensure the settings of your router as follows:
Items | Recommend settings |
Whitelist, firewall, VPN, or proxy server | Disable |
Guest mode | Disable |
Security: WEP, WPA3 | Disable |
Passwordless authention connection | Disable |
Security: WPA / WPA2 | Enable √ |
- Set Wi-Fi name and password with English letters or numbers, no special characters.
- Networks requiring web authentication or verification (e.g., hotel or airport Wi-Fi) are NOT supported.
- Ensure the router has not reached its maximum device limit.
- Reboot the router.
1.3 Tips for Network Configuration
- Enter the correct Wi-Fi password for your home Wi-Fi, paying attention to case sensitivity and no spaces.
- If you’re using other network configuration methods (e.g., hot spot), please note the following:
Tip 1: In the "Connect Robot Wi-Fi" progress, a "WLAN has no internet" dialog may pop up in some Android cases after the connection of "TerraMow-XXXX" Wi-Fi. You can respond as follows:
a. If you are asked to switch to a different network, select "Do not switch."
b. If you are asked to allow switching to a better network, select "Do not allow."
c. If you are asked to continue using the network, select "Use."
Tip 2: The network configuration is done subject to the voice prompt "Wi-Fi connected successfully". Please manually connect your phone to the home Wi-Fi.
1.4 Try another mobile hotspot for network configuration if the above methods don't work.
- For iPhone, the maximum compatibility should be enabled.
- With the latest app and location permissions, you can complete the network configuration under a hot spot shared by another phone, following the app wizard (please refer to point 2).
1.5 If the network configuration still fails, you may need to restore factory settings.
Press and hold the “Start” and “Power” buttons for 5 seconds on the robot's top panel.
Note: All the maps, no-go zones, and scheduled settings will be clear after the factory reset.
2. Try Network Configuration Again
Step 1. During configuration, keep a distance within 1.5 meters between your phone and the robot with minimal obstacles in between.
Step 2. Move the robot near the router. Turn on the robot after a 10-second turn-off.
Step 3. Try network configuration again.
- Press and hold the Home and Power buttons on the robot's top for 3 seconds until the voice prompts "WiFi connection has been reset".
- Tap the “Add Device” in the app, and follow the step-by-step instructions.
